How long does private pilot ground school take online?
Most students finish the Private Pilot course in about eight weeks. It is self-paced, so you can move faster or slower around your work and your flight lessons. Individual courses include lifetime access, so there is no deadline.
Do I need flight hours before starting ground school?
No. The FAA does not require any flight time before you take the private pilot knowledge test, so you can start ground school before your first lesson. Most students do both at once, which keeps what you learn on the ground fresh when you get in the airplane.
Will I get the endorsement I need to take the FAA written exam?
Yes. When you complete the course, you receive the instructor endorsement or completion certificate required to sit for the FAA knowledge test. If you have not received one within 30 days of purchase, you are covered by our satisfaction guarantee.
